Help a Kiwi Fly!

Shall we start with a little bit of background? I am Samantha Felton, New Zealand's current eventing young rider (U21) champion. I have grown up with horses and am extremely dedicated to reaching my goals of competing on the world stage. I recently represented New Zealand at the Trans-tasman championships where we won gold!

In the long term I want to represent New Zealand at the most prestigious equestrian events around the world. These include the World Equestrian Games (WEG), the Olympics, Badmington and Burghley. But to get there I need to progress my learning further. Ultimately I would love to be in Rio alongside some of New Zealand's best talent including Mark Todd and Jock Paget.

To get there will take dedication and true grit along with a bit of funding. The first step comes with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to partake in a crash course apprenticeship alongside some of New Zealand's best riders such as Jock Paget (Olympic Bronze Medallist and Current World Number 3) at the heart of eventing in England next June.

I aim to make the most of this unique opportunity by helping Jonathan to target key events such as the Archen International Horse Trial. I will be riding everyday and taking part in my first European events both on weekends and mid-week. I will make the most of my other contacts in the area such as Mark Todd, Clarke Jonstone, Andrew Nicholson, and Caroline Powell, learning how to succeed on the international stage.

So how can you help may you ask? A little bit of funding and support would be AMAZING! I look forward to your pledging and keeping you informed of my journey to the world stage.
